First long term PPA for Sonnedix for an unsubsidized asset in Spain
Sonnedix, a leading solar independent power producer, saw the potential on the Spanish renewables market early and moved swiftly to secure an interesting pipeline. Of which the first 50MW in Extremadura have now reached sufficient maturity to sign a PPA, to supply Statkraft with around 100 GWh/year of green electricity from 2021 to 2031, this enabling the project to secure the long-term financing and construction.
It was interesting for us to be able to follow this growing portfolio from the very early stages and with a clear understanding of when PPAs were to be signed. In spite of COVID19 it was possible to reach an agreement satisfying both parties and clearly demonstrates that the Spanish PPA market remains active.
We would like to thank all involved parties for their diligence and dedication working from home to get this deal done in spite of the difficult circumstances.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Sonnedix in their post-subsidy ventures in Spain and abroad.
